Elora Bazanele, MS, RD, LD

Hi, I’m Elora! I’m a Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor whose passion is to help my clients find peace with food and their bodies by leading them to eat without diets, fear, or guilt. Instead of providing rigid meal plans that leave you hangry and fearing food, I help you reconnect with your body, develop compassionate strategies to nourish yourself, and finally find peace with food.

Specialties:

My specialties include Intuitive Eating, disordered eating and eating disorder recovery (I particularly enjoy helping with binge eating disorder and “atypical” anorexia), emotional eating, body image healing, trauma-informed care, somatic nutrition therapy, and the intersection of digestive health and eating disorders with particular interest in IBS, IBD, SIBO, and GERD.

My Philosophy:

As a strong advocate of the Health At Every Size® framework and guided by my own lived experience, I understand the harms that weight stigma in health care can cause and how important it is to provide respectful, aware, and compassionate nutrition therapy for all bodies. Therefore, I don’t focus on weight based goals and focus on all the important things that are keeping you from adequately nourishing your body. My goal is to see you as the whole and amazing person that you are and to be your cheerleader along the way.

Education and Qualifications:

I earned a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from Texas Woman’s University in the fall of 2014 and worked as a Dietetic Technician in acute care afterward. I completed my dietetic internship in 2018 at hospitals and outpatient clinics in the Dallas area, where I was introduced to the world of eating disorders. I then completed a M.S. in Nutrition and Food Systems from The University of Southern Mississippi in the spring of 2019. I have been a Registered Dietitian since 2018 but have been helping patients lead healthier lives through nutrition since 2015. I continue to further my education in Eating Disorders, Trauma-Informed Care, Intuitive Eating, Weight-Inclusive Care, and Digestive Health Nutrition.

My core values:

Compassion, Accessibility, Safety, Wholistic, Intuitive, Evidence-Based Practice

I'm not about:

Dieting, strict meal plans, counting calories, restricting foods, or body shaming.

I'm dedicated to:

Helping folks from all walks of life reconnect with their body, develop compassionate strategies to nourish themselves, and find peace with food.

Are you struggling to connect with your body and truly nourish yourself?

After working together, my clients often share with me that they notice less “food noise”, are consistently nourishing their bodies in ways that feel well, and give themselves permission to eat and find joy with food without feeling out of control.
